Elbit Systems, an international defense company, has been awarded two contracts totaling $252 million to supply advanced artillery rocket systems to a European NATO member country. Under the first contract, Elbit Systems will provide a battalion’s worth of ATMOS 155mm/52 caliber truck-mounted howitzer systems. The second contract involves the provision of two batteries worth of PULS™ artillery rocket-launcher systems, which can fire both free-flying rockets and precision guided rockets and missiles up to 300km. These contracts demonstrate the growing demand for advanced artillery solutions worldwide, as militaries look to increase the effectiveness of their armed forces. Elbit Systems’ operationally proven systems offer an advanced and cost-effective solution to meet that demand.
Elbit Systems has also been awarded a $120 million follow-on contract to supply unmanned turrets, Remote Controlled Weapon Stations (RCWS) and mortar systems to the Romanian Armed Forces. The three-year contract will be performed by Elbit’s Romanian subsidiary, Elmet International SRL, and will integrate the systems onto General Dynamics European Land Systems’ ‘Piranha V’ Armored Personnel Carrier. Elbit’s UT30 MK2 unmanned light turret, RCWS, and SPEAR mortar system are designed to provide enhanced combat effectiveness, situational awareness, and target acquisition capabilities.
