France has unveiled the design for its next-generation nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the Porte-Avions Nouvelle Génération (PANG), at Euronaval 2024. Set to replace the Charles de Gaulle by 2038, the PANG will feature cutting-edge technology, including three Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) catapults for efficient aircraft deployment. Measuring 305 meters and displacing 75,000 tons, it will accommodate a diverse air wing, including the New Generation Fighter (NGF), Rafale M, E-2D Hawkeye, and UAVs. Powered by two K22 nuclear reactors, the PANG will ensure extended endurance and global power projection. Construction begins in 2026, with commissioning planned for 2038.
