Smiths Detection, a global leader in threat detection and security screening, has signed an agreement to supply Noida International Airport in India with advanced passenger and hold baggage screening equipment. The airport is set to become a major hub for travellers and air cargo and logistics, with construction activities underway and an expected opening at the end of 2024. Smiths Detection will provide various technologies, including the HI-SCAN 6040 DV and HI-SCAN 10080 XCT screening systems, the iLane A20 automatic tray return system, the IONSCAN 600 portable explosives and narcotics trace detector, and multiple additional X-ray screening systems to screen oversized goods. The company will also provide round the clock fully comprehensive equipment service and maintenance for 10 years.
